IEC has introduced a new efficiency testing standard IEC 60034-2-1: 2007-09. ABB has already started re-testing its motor range according to the new standard and will publish the new efficiency values in its catalogues during 2008, as soon as tests are completed.

High efficiency level saves energy, enables the motor to run cooler and thus extends the bearing and winding lifetime. High efficiency level makes a big difference over the lifetime of a motor. In addition to the energy savings, also the bearings and winding have extended lifetime as a high efficient motor runs cool. Efficiency level counts!

Did you know that?

With one high efficiency motor (3% higher efficiency) the savings in one year continuous run can reach 23 000 kWh, corresponding 11.5 tons C02.
