2010-08-02 - Roadshow featuring 18 highly-focused seminar topics presented by technology specialists will visit all the major cities in Australia
ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has announced the ABB 2010 Technology Roadshow, which presents the latest in discrete automation and low voltage technologies and visits major cities in Australia. The event offers 18 highly-focused seminar topics presented by ABB’s specialists explaining how state-of-the-art technologies can easily be applied across industry sectors, to improve operating productivity and performance, while reducing costs.
The seminar entitle, “Advances in low voltage motors provide increased reliability and adaptability” focuses on motor reliability and explains how customers can meet their application requirements and reduce energy efficiency costs, using MEPS standard motors. The session called “Meeting the international manufacturing challenge, consider the new paradigm – people, task process and robots” will see ABB share ten key advantages of incorporating free-standing robots in a modern manufacturing solution, all presented from the perspective of an Australian-based manufacturing business owner.
ABB’s seminar titled, “Electrical protection in solar applications” explains specific solar energy distribution and protection installation requirements, which goes beyond merely switching a DC voltage. The other solar application session covers ABB’s new PVS800 inverter technology that connects PV arrays to the grid, and can be used in both industrial scale and medium-sized plants.
Seminar sessions include:
- Measurement and communication with modern day circuit breakers
- Enhance safety in distribution boards
- Reliability, availability, maintainability and safety: (RAMS) of LV switchgear
- Open building control systems
- The first transformer less 6.6 kV, VSI MV drive, technology of the future
- Save energy, enhance safety, boost process time
- Improve power quality with variable speed drives
- Maximise capital investments with a drives lifecycle management program
- Optimise MV/HV motor efficiencies and simplify certification to Ex standards
- Motor and machine lifecycle services
- Change for more: market expertise, industrial productivity, energy efficiency
Participants will come away from these seminars better informed and equipped with the latest ‘know-how’ to apply immediately in the workplace. Throughout the day guests will also have the opportunity to visit the exhibition, which will showcase ABB’s leading edge technologies including the new ACS2000 drive, UMC 100 protection relay, M3BP process performance motor, ACS350 IP66/IP67 drive, eCo PLC CPU and GAMMA load break switches.
Event dates: 5 August (Brisbane), 11 August (Sydney), 18 August (Melbourne), 24 August (Adelaide) and 6 September 2010 (Perth).
Registration: Participation for seminar is free of charge. Additional event details and registration is via ABB’s on-line events pages at www.abbaustralia.com.au/events
