What happens when you join the ABB Graduate Program

What happens when you start?
Successful candidates will be welcomed into life at ABB with a complete induction, which includes a comprehensive overview of the company history and capabilities, health and safety, as well as legal and administrative requirements. Graduates get the opportunity to talk with current and past members of the program, as well as employees and business managers who will help with the transition into the company. All graduates recieve a laptop and other necessary equipment when they commence with ABB.

Where will you be located?
For each rotation, graduates may be located at one of our nine main offices, or working from one of our many project sites throughout the country. Our main
offices are in:

  • CBD, Sydney
  • Moorebank, Sydney
  • Regents Park, Sydney
  • Notting Hill, Melbourne
  • Lilydale, Melbourne
  • Spotswood, Melbourne
  • Darra, Brisbane
  • Eagle Farm, Brisbane
  • Malaga, Perth

When graduates are required to work interstate and overseas, all accommodation and travel costs are borne by ABB.

Training courses and learning opportunities –
Graduates will have the opportunity to attend several training courses
including:
  • ABB Leadership Challenge
  • Winning Presentations workshop
  • Effective Time Management
  • Safety Leadership Training
  • Technical and product specific training
  • Finance for Business Managers
  • Online training courses

ABB also encourages and assists employees to improve their formal education qualifications through an employee education assistance scheme.

Professional Development – Each graduate will be given a rotation profile before the start of every rotation outlining the tasks and responsibilities of the role. A review held in the middle and at the end of the rotation will be used to provide feedback and discuss the development of each individual.

Social and networking opportunities – After rotating through many business units within the organisation, graduates will quickly develop a strong network of friends and colleagues, creating a supportive environment that fosters responsibility, respect and determination.Graduates can also look forward to many social events including sporting activities such as soccer and bowling, trivia nights, Christmas festivities, and many other social gatherings.

Mentoring – Graduates are encouraged to seek out a suitable person within ABB to establish a mentoring relationship with. The role of the mentor is to provide guidance and support to the graduate and assist in career development.
