General competition details

After the success of its inaugural year, SAE-A and ABB Australia are pleased to announce the launch of the 2nd Annual National Robotics Innovation Competition.

The competition was developed to enhance interaction between students and automotive and industrial employers nationally.

The objective of this competition is for university students, in conjunction with industry partners, to develop a project proposal for an innovative and cost effective way to manufacture an existing component or improve a manufacturing process through the use of Robot-based automation.

Student individuals or groups should produce a complete solution for the process, complete with the consideration of safety, environmental, financial, and quality elements. For more detailed submission information see the ‘Student & University Information’ section.

Entry into the competition also allows students to attend free industry-run seminars on important everyday business areas such as presentation skills, OH&S, finance and compliance. Prizes will also be awarded to the winning group and/or individual.

To register your interest, please see the forms available for student and industry participants here. Otherwise to obtain more information, please email robots@au.abb.com or call the ABB Helpline on 1800 ABB HELP (1800 222 4357).
